I find there to be very little EVO hostility on here (considering). I've waved at a number of EVO drivers but they just look at you like your some sort of idiot and as if to say 'why you waving at my in your poxy Impreza'
We will see once I get it modified
But seriously I like EVO's and I like all the EVO drivers I've met. There do seem to be a few people on here that think that their EVO/Scooby is the fastest car in the planet but I think we need a wee reality check here. At the end of the day it's just 2.0 litres and you can only stuff in so much air with the turbo.

Dont think anyone really hate evos in soem ways better in others not, but if an evo owner comes on here and has a go at scoobs then what would you do . Go onto the MLR and tell then you have a scoob and its better than any EVO ever and better in every way and see what reaction you get .
I do wave at EVOs and a couple have waved back, also had a good chat with crypty the other night at a local meet, just two petrolheads talking motors.
Which thread has annoyed you BTW .
Cheers

I don't hate evo owners, nor do I hate skyline, supra, or RS owners. I love any performance car really. The only time I'd hate them would be if the owner happens to be a complete *****, and unfortunatley there are a few around, but the majority make up for the minority.

not sure what plannet you are on Katana? It depends what the task is as to how good/bad supras and skylines are.
I love all performance cars, some of the people i like, some i dont, it has bugger all to do with what they drive, just what they are like.

'll just agree with you that Imprezas are faster than Supras or Skyline.

I think Katana is trying to make the point that if your going for big power for 'realistic' money and hassle the Supra and skyline can be made to be far quicker than scoobys/evo's!
For example Andy F has proven time and time again at Crail that the scooby can be a good 1/4 mile machine and has embarrassed some powerful Supra's and skylines but at lot of that is his lightening 60ft times (i.e. traction) and short RA gearing. If it was a 1/2 mile or longer race the Supra/skyline boys would reel him in as he starts bouncing of the limiter in 5th!

i never said that, so you are agreeing with something that hasnt been said.
Horses for courses, there are plenty of places a skyline or supra would be very slow where a scoob would fly, and vice versa. You cant make sweeping statements, which was my point.

I think John was trying to point that it depends under what circumstances you are comparing the cars. A skyline on a narrow twisty back road wouldnt standard a chance against a scoob as a scoob is smaller, lighter and can use more of its power and traction. The same goes for the supra which isnt exactly small either . Just because a car can get 600+bhp doesnt make them fast in all circumstances. A back field F1 car woudl be lucky to have 800bhp and there are reported skylines with 1000+bhp but around any track I know where my money would go .
D'OH took me 10mins to type that

Maybe "hate" was too strong. Most of the Evo baiting is just a bit of fun. But their was a story on here a while back about a bloke(P1 driver I think) who wound up a copper, then told him he drives an Evo with the sole intention of getting said copper to nick any Evo driver in sight!! Much praise was given to this P1 plonker by many. Whats all that about?

Chris, thats a different matter. Thats track related, were talking getting someone harrased with the thread Liz picked out.
There will always be someone upset by someone else when on track.

Liz,
There isnt anything wrong with Evos, i was even going to buy an Evo4 before i got me scoob (and the fact was that i could get a euro import scoob what holds its value better than an Evo for the same price and 4 years less wear )
Of course its now slightly modified and the fact that the UK cars are euro compliant for emissions (and then we remove our cats and put better exhausts on )
But alot of people do like Evo's, they are nice cars but not practical for most people on here who could afford to run them no problems but having to keep stopping for fuel if you do a few miles in your car does get annoying and even my poxy 260+bhp scoob can do the south coast to Manchester without needing fuel (and no im not going slow either ) which is one of the reasons i bought the car in the first place
We all have banter about other cars, the cossies have taken some stick but its mainly light hearted humour
Now if your up for it and just make sure you have enough fuel, go to northern meet 7 its only 65 miles so you shouldnt need to stop
Tony

Tony, I didnt buy a performance car for it's fuel consumption, did you?
Might I suggest A TDI Golf as your next mode of transportation?
