280ps @ 6,400rpm - 384Nm @ 4,400rpm
White only, has roof vent but no boot spoiler,16" alloys,Variable Diff.

Looks very nice - cant give any spec as all in japanese

I believe I saw a Russian registered spec C at the Ring in May. One of those pointless sunroofs and no wing, white.
Got it on video, me overtaking him

No idea. Just remembered seeing him at the Ring and having a play with him on several laps. Didn't seem to have a very high top end though, but the acceleration seemed pretty quick.

That car in the pic isn't a Spec C, all Spec C's have MY02 front end (if u want to know what I'm talking abt, just compare the grill on the Euro WRX & Euro STi, u'll find there's a subtle difference. That new grill is on all JDM Imprezas for MY02, whereas it is only fitted to STis on export spec cars).
Spec C's are very different from the regular STi RA, it is abt 100kgs ligher than the standard car. The Spec C doesn't seem to have a front subframe & the rear baulkhead is also different. The turbo & ECU are also different in the Spec C.
There are 2 versions of the Spec C, one with 16" steel rims & the other has 17" alloys that are exclusive to the Spec C. The 2 cars have different 4wd setup (don't remember the exact details).
In recent Japanese tests, the Spec C beats the ACD/AYC equipped Evo 7 RS on track.
The other WRX u're talking abt is just a standard JDM WRX but with export spec brakes (i.e. 4 pot calipers), 17" rims as on euro cars (originally from the B4), & a higher rear spoiler.
Subaru recently launched a STi Limited in Japan to celebrate 30 years of making 4wd cars, & that STi has the engine from the Spec C.

Car in the pic is just a standard RA isnt it, cause no normal Sti gets a roof vent? And they have dropped all the multitudes of variations these days, no type R's, V-limited etc etc.....

4 pots were std on export spec cars only. If I recall correctly, the JDM WRX never had 4 pots, GC8 or otherwise. The New Age JDM WRX (250ps) has 2 pot brakes & 16" rims as std.
Not all export spec WRX has 17" rims tho, for example, WRXs on sale in Thailand has 16" rims & 4 pot brakes.

russian car pictured looks like a dodgy conversion to LHD - wipers are right pattern but things like the aerial on wrong side are a bit worrying - it certainly aint no ra or spec c - bit of a hybrid if you ask me.
as for the spec c - monster car - jap best magazine video I have shows it beating everything at tsukuba and on a gymkhana course including evo 7 (gsr and rs) skyline GTR m spec, rx7, NSX type r, - 0-400m in 12 sec dead and fastest lap around tsukuba. Hopefully pro-sport in stockport will have one soon -
meanwhile - here is one for your desk ;-)

And they go like the proverbial showers!! The Spec C gets RE070 cut R spec rubber, and a front end with heaps more caster (and new geometry) too - a std car would not see which way it went. Coz of that rubber, the S202 is actually slower believe it or not...
Clarence, there is one Rex that gets 17" + 4 pots/2pots a la UK, the NB-R. It also gets STi dampers and springs - it is VERY stiff!
Cheers

It would be great if someone could finnally tell us how this new new handles? No subframes- read - old scooby steering and chassis feel, no? I recken I won't be able to get over to the UK or Japan for a while so maybe someone could test drive one and give us some idea about this car.

Yes, the NB-R was the one I mentioned at the end of my 1st post in this thread. It also has a higher rear spoiler which it shares with the STi Limited.
Btw, the tyres used by the Spec C (I mean the 17" version) is now also fitted as OE to the new NSX Type-R, which did a lap of 7m56s in the Ring recently in the hands of a certain senior Japanese driver (u'll know who I mean if u watch BM).
