at 5:40 this afternoon, after just over 2years of owning my MY97 Turbo.....
i have put SUL in my car!!!!!!! 82.9p a litre!!! ouch!!!!! my £10 will not go far on this!!!!!!! lol
the reason????
well..
just to see if it gets better BHP over UL on G-Mans rolling road day on saturday!!!!
in the last two years she has ran fine on Fina UL so i've always kept at that.
we will see on saturday, anyone else going to Power Engineering??

Phil,
You car will take a few tankfuls to advance the ingnition far enough to fully take advantage of SUL 97 RON.
You need to do an ECU reset. Easiest way is to diconnect the battery for about an hour.

Phil - I would think you would notice a difference - I run my UK wagon on SUL all the time and round the Nurburgring used an octane booster aswell.....certainly feels stronger IMHO but I have yet to do an ECU reset on her....the other weird think was since I used French / Belgian and German 98RON SUL I have had no overboost??? strange - unless it was a dodgy batch of UK petrol that had caused my probs before I went...
Remember the gains on the rollers might be caused by a change in ambient temps and not the change in fuel although it *will* make a difference

In my Rover I switched from UL to SUL and found that I got an extra 35-40 miles out of a tank, making it cheaper per mile! All the engine sensors told the ecu it had a stronger spark so it chucks a little less in. Bonza. I will try to avoid normal UL for ever

tnx peeps
just spoke to Tim (service manager) at Beechdale Subaru Nottm.
he said it will adjust itself vertually straight away, no need 4 me to do anything with the car.....also it will take affect as soon as its in the system (i've filled up from empty anyway) so this week we will see!
