How many of you Turbo boys wave to us the humble Sport drivers. Just asking because if I wave to a Turbo, I get the feeling that you don't realy want to. (Wave but no smile). Especially in Notts.

I don't wave at sports first but would wave back if one waved at me. My reason is simple: There are a lot of sport owners who are not enthusiastic owners and would wonder what the hell I was doing. Granted lots of turbo owners look at you like you have two heads as well but the chances are smaller IMO.

Yeah, I get some right funny looks when I flash/ wave/ smile at any Scooby, whether Turbo or Sport.
If you have the time to spot who's driving it and/or whether the car has been modded, this will influence who you wave at.
Green scoob drivers never wave back

Pretty much what has been said above (I think I only scan read it)
After a few waves and flashes at Sports and no reponse I usually wait until waved at or without trying to sound ageist I check whether the drive has a flat cap on..
I have waved and been let in by Sport owners and that was in Derby so not far... was fun overtaking a long row of cars to be let in near the front by a sport!

I'm in Notts, just got an STi7, been dissapointed in Notts with the other scoob drivers, but in Tamworth HOW polite! Just to say Hi to the guy in the green scoob with SIDC on the back.

Overhere it's like this:
- Impreza (Sport) = Waving sadly doesn't exist
- Impreza (Turbo) = Waving does exist but your arm/shoulder hurts after a while (I am still working on the correct technique!!)
- Impreza (new style WRX) = They either don't know that waving is a common thing to do within Imreza drivers, or are old geezers that don't now the 'old' style impreza
- Impreza (new style STI) = (With some exceptions) They are to good to wave or don't know either.
I wave all the time, especially to the Police Cars!! Yes, I am actually driving on autopilot!!

I never wave cos it's a really odd thing to do just because someone owns the same marque of car.
If you were walking down the street and approached someone wearing the same brand clothing you would deserve to be arrested so why do it with cars?

DeeDee,
Waving, flashing, etc sadly seems to be dying out now. 3 years ago when I bought my first Scoob it was quite heartwarming to get a flash and/or wave. You got the feeling that you were part of a small band of discerning car enthusiasts who "had the knowledge", so to speak.
Now hardly anyone bothers. I could give a view as to the reasons for this but its not worth getting flamed for it.
I will wave/flash back if I get waved/flashed at first, providing their car is going slow enough for me to see the wave in the first place. Else I don't bother, which is sad.
Sign of the times....

First day out in first scoob, was waved at by first scoob I met..... so always wave and get about 50% back. Doesn't worry me whether or not other driver responds. Don't wave at Sports (sorry) 'cos of the "in the know" thing. I take the view that pretty well anyone who drives a turbo car is likely to be an enthusiast too..... So I'm not ackowledging the Marque, just the enthusiast
And occasionally a wave ends up on "was it you" page, which is fun in a quiet sort of way....
