WRK PPP to STi7
#1
OK Ive got a UK300 and am thinking of trading up to an STi7 Prodrive .
Anyone else gone from WRX/PPP to STi and is it worth the difference?
My UK300 also has the following:
PPP
Prodrive Quickshift
Prodrive Springs
Mesh Grille Upper/Lower
STi Fog Covers
Barrier Deadlock
Personal Plate
ITG Filter
Braided Hoses
Colour coded side vents
Momo Gear ****
Any (sensible) comments about what I should be looking for mine to change.
Im going for a test drive tomorrow so I should have a better idea of what I think of the Sti
Cheers

Well they have a slicker 6 speed box, better brakes, bigger, more powerful turbo, suretrac diffs front and rear, vvc, better engine etc etc etc.
You should go for the STi, it is a step up, your car in PPP form doesnt have the power the STi has in standard form and with a PPP pretty much available for the STi now its going to be even more powerful and cheaper to modify than your UK300

Keep the revs up over 4000 if you want to really make it fly......not as much of a problem with the 6 speed box as some make noises about here, soon to be here PPP will broaden the power band and add even more go. My MY02 STI is a better car all round than my old MY01 WRX, more focused some how.

WRX had more urge low down (full de-cat + PPP) altho STi PPP will sort that, but its the whole STi package that I liked, interior/exterior/exclusivity/residuals.
MY02's deffo seem better screwed together, feels very solid.
You wont regret it, there are a few of us that went from mad WRX's to STi's, nobody has any real regrets as far as I know.

I had a similar spec. MY01 to Big Goon (285 bhp with full de-cat, PPP etc..) Decided to change to a STi7 again for similar reasons e.g better interior, limited run, 6 speed box etc.. Plus the good deal my dealer offered me for my MY01 against the STi.
Once PPP is fitted performance will exceed my WRX with the potential to take it a lot further. In my opinion it is a far better alround car (once a few little changes have been made ).

the wrx / ppp is pretty quick but if you like your dentures shaken out and a totally raw driving experience then the sti7 is a must.
if you want to go wild then you might want to think about the sti7/ppp just released which is about £2200 fitted. that should take you to 305bhp and more smiles per mile.
ive just ordered a prodrive with the ppp delivery feb 2002 but worth the wait
go on take a leap of faith
