Richard is I'd like to believe a very dear friend to me and many others around, for those who have met and know him know his generosity, kindness and softly spoken manner, whilst I did not know his brother as well as Richard I know he followed in the same path.
I had discussed with Richard over the weekend what we as a community could maybe do as a gesture to his beloved brother Nick as a lasting and farewell thought from all in the "scoobynet" community.
A marble inscribed vase of sorts, housing flowers, we think would be apt and fitting, the words to be chosen to sum up all our feelings from the whole of the community.
Your imput and thoughts on how we make this happen is very much appreciated, a contribution no matter how small will result in making the above become reality. As to how we collect contributions needs some thought, maybe the SIDC or some other reputable organisation could set up being able to take credit/debit donations ?
With regards to the funeral procession, once Richard has given me details I suggest we meet at Birch services M62 Eastbound (between Junction 18 & 19 M62 motorway, we will then lead from there to a suitable meet up point, again, please register your interest in this so we can get an idea of numbers etc.....
Please note that myself , Richard, Jon Felstead, Slider and others are meeting at the Fishermans pub by Hollingworth Lake in Littleborough this Thursday evening for a drink and a get together, Nick would have wanted this pre-arranged meeting to go ahead, please feel free to come over, karaoke will be in swing with me and Richard doing our duet for Nick

Sorry, not sure how to make it clickable.
I'm maybe at a loose end Thursday night and if possible would like to come along and show some Scoobynet support. I dont know anyone on the list other than having seen the names on Scoobynet, but maybe its time I did.
I will also try to get the Scoob across for the procession, when it occurs.

I am happy to make the journey to the NW.
I like the idea of the vase and flowers, for some reason I think flowers are good, because they don't last forever, and need replacing.
I am looking into an annual charity dyno meet of some sort, in Nick's name or not, seems like a good idea nontheless.

These are all excellent ideas.
I am touched deeply by the level of response. Thank you to everyone.
If anyone wants to donate any money to a cause, I think a memorial vase is an excellent idea, but if people prefer, they could always make donations to the intensive care unit at Hope Hospital in Manchester who so wonderfully took care of nick in his final hours.
Plus if anyone wants to come on Thursday for a beer and a chat as Mellow said above, please do.
Thanks Again
Rich

Not a scoob owner, didn't know Nick, but he was an enthusiast and a scoobynet user, what more do I need to know?
If no-one objects, I'd like to bring my little Skoda along on Thurs evening, and also the funeral procession.

the exact location of the pub is http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.sr...=newsearch.srf
Looking forward to it, although Rich and Mellow singing a duet whilst blowing me kisses was a bit embarasing last time. It will be a fun night i am sure Nick would have enjoyed.

Jason,
No probs........are you coming to the Thursday meet?
Mellow,
I can help get the South/midland scoobies organised and lead the convoy up for the funeral procession if that helps?
Also, would it be a nice idea to have something on the car to say that we are travelling in honour of Nick?
michelle.

Didn't know nick, but recognise a lot of names off SCOOBYNET, would also like to pay my respects to a fellow scooby enthusiast.
Please post details of time to meet at Hollingworth Lake.
From a new scooby enthusiast, who would like to meet others.
Thanks Stevie D.

Mellow, great idea on the vase mate, was just wondering if it were possible to get one done with a picture of Nick's car on it too.
Cheers
