Spraying that orange "bit" on the bumper?

Andy, LOL
J., your car looks very cool... respect !
Indeed, it pops out pretty easily. I used a bit of kleenex around the screwdriver to pop it out, just so I wouldn't damage the paintwork. Pops out from the top if I remember correctly.

I just used paint stripper (Strypit) and the orange paint dissolved easily, after a bit of rubbing with an old toothbrush. You are then left with a nice matt black finish(the colour of the base material).
The advantage of this method is any stone chips you get don't show up orange!

I got them out by levering them with a screwdriver from the top, protecting the bumper with a thick rag, then pulled them forward with pliers. I figured it didn't matter too much if they got lightly marked in the process, after all I was about to respray them

They're actually blue - they just look black in the photo because they're in shadow. I used grey plastic primer, Rover Tahiti Blue Pearlescent '93, and clear lacquer, all Halfords' own. The Rover paint is even closer to DBM than Subaru's own touch-up paint!
No stone chips yet, but with 3 coats of lacquer and 4 of colour it should be OK. Hadn't realised that they were actually painted orange in the first place, I thought they were just moulded out of orange plastic!

Is there an easy answer for Sonic Blue as well? What about spraying it silver to match clear indicators?
