Question

Hmm. Bit of Strife going on Chez Jods.
Other 1/2 seems to think I am spending excessive amounts of moola on the Scooby !!

Here is my average spend per month :
Petrol 161.25 (I do ALL the driving)
Insurance 66.20
Maintenance 174.92 (includes 30 & 45K Services)

There is also a loan of 305.12 but you can't really count that can you.

I don't see that as excessive - do you ?????????

I mean, what better was is there of spending 700 a month ???

From your point of view - none, in fact I think you could stretch to spending a bit more.
From the wifes POV (10 years experience here) - in no specific order, shoes, bags, clothes, any product advertised on tv we don't have, every shampoo & shower gel known, etc, etc

Unhappy

Are my running costs UNREASONABLE ???

I guess at the end of the day if it comes down to it being a choice between the scoob and the missus it's a simple choice !

To be honest, she wins hands down !

She is sexy beyond belief ! Everywhere I go with her peoples heads turn ! She makes me feel glad to be alive and gives me a reason to get up in the morning !

I couldn't imagine life without her for any reason whatsoever !

I know you'll say that it's a bit of a sacrifice to make - But to me it's worth it !

Will someone let me wife know - I'm off for the drive of my life

Sounds like my car

And I can sympathise mate.

My missus stumbled across a Visa bill last night and decided to add up all the £40+ at Shell stations

Easy one this,

Buy her a scoob, then you can complain about HER excessive petrol costs

I did, works wonders, except she's having the PPP first

I guess I could make another sacrifice and let the Mrs drive my lovely car for a week. I'll miss her, the car that it! but hopefully the wife will understand she's up against a much younger / sportier model

Tell her you fancy a TME Evo, then work out the costs of running an Evo with the closer servicing etc, she'll soon appreciate the scoob

Failing that either let her drive the car as you suggest or swap her

Jods - just show her these figures, it will make your cost look reasonable...

Per Month -
Fuel - £500-600
Insur - £210
HP - £400
Maintenance - £150 (tyres, breaks, servicing)
Mods - £250

Hence I've got a non-turbo now..

PS. Also you could justify it with "well at least it means I can't afford a mistress!"

I must be lucky,my beloved wife to be in (2 weeks) has said i can have an STi7 and i've only had my new one 9 months.I knew the £400 spending spree on her at the trafford centre would work a treat.
I'm off to the dealers tonight to discuss trade in deals.
ps. Do what me a Nick Adams do,buy everything in stealth mode and add parts she cant see. Her, why is your exhaust blowing,me, i have no idea i will get it checked soon i promise (New backbox).

My girlfriend complains about the running costs, but while we were talking about a second car said something like "I don't want just a 2.0 sport, I'll miss the turbo too much!"

So I can't win, - I get to keep the Scooby, but I'm not allowed to service it, buy it mods, put petrol in it for my use, drive it....

The list goes on....

DrEvil - Excellent line about the Mistress ! I think I might use that 1. Advise from the bods at work is to attack her clothes budget and the large amount that gets spent on unnecessary girly stuff like beauty products and V expensive weekends away at health spas etc ! Visiting hairdressers can go and all! Nip down to the local barbers £5.00 for a quick once over with a pair of clippers - It were good enough for me Gran so it shouold be good enough for her !!

Full battle mode is on !!!!! Best form of Defense is Attack.

zippy-don't fall for it mate just wait till she has that ring on her finger,it will all change

it will be ok if you can afford £400 shopping sprees every month, after all if you can afford a new scooby you can afford to buy her new cloths, bathroom suites,kitchens,carpets,etc......

i've got a seperate credit card that the misses dosen't know about. I put all my scooby stuff on that. Its got just over a grand on it at the moment.

The only bad thing is, its got a credit limit of £6500. I just hope i never get near that.

She would have my knackers if she ever read the statements.
i would never hear the end of it.
new back box - how much ?
new centre pipe - how much ?
new gauges - how much ?
etc, etc, etc.

Kevin

When they get to 25 ish they learn to myther, so when they reach 25 trade them in for a younger model.#

All u dads out there with daughters..... start teaching them not to nag and myther at an early age. Thell them men r allowed to fart, belch and get so p***ed once a week they sleep on the door step.

Educate your young angles and breed nagging out.

It will only take 2 generations.............
