Looks like the general feeling is Armourfend is a good thing to fit!

But, which bits most important to cover?

Bonnet - yep, but what about headlights? Front plastics? Rear wheelarches??

I would appreciate some advice from people who have 'been there'?

Cheers in advance

Thumbs up

Andy,
I had the bonnet, grill surround, front spoiler, piece in front of oil cooler, wing ends and wing mirrors. All the bits that are most likely to get stone chipped under normal driving conditions.

Armourfend is a protective clear film that guards the paintwork against stone chips, insect damage, abrasion and weathering.

Can you tell this stuff has been applied? Who sells it in the UK? How do you go about cleaning your car after application?

Yes you can see the piece that goes on the bonnet because it goes about a third of the way up, so there is a very faint line . The other areas it is very difficult to detect, that's if it has been fitted correctly.
Washing and waxing , Armourfend don't recommend jet washing, hand washing only.
Just wax away from the cut off lines so that there is no wax build up around the edges.
Easy as that really..

Question

Is it worth having on the front plastics?

Aren't they colour coded or just painted?

Do the rear wheelarch bits cover the same area as the mudflap fastens?

Andy,
I don't understand is what colour coded?
Armourfend is a very thin transparent but very tough film.
By front plastics do you mean front spoiler etc?

Andy,
As I explained in previous threads it is best to have the Armourfend fitted to the entire front end including grill surround and front spoiler. These ares are still very prone to stone chipping even though they are colour coded plastic.
