dont know where this should go really so move at will.

A friend of mine is going to be supplying carbon fibre parts for the impreza in the near future and wants to know what parts people would like to see available.

so far we have

wrc style front bumper inc grille
front splitter
standard grille
bonnets
scoop
vent
spoilers??
ancillery belt covers
airbox for separating air filter
potential cold air induction pipework
fog light covers
rear bumper
mudflaps
boot lid

i cant think of much else here, but we are after ideas.

is there anything people would like to see available? specifically from carbon fibre, although fibreglass is also a (cheaper) option.

must point out that this is not autoclaved carbon fibre but is very strong, and easily up to the task in hand.

Not that I would be a customer, due to not having a Scoob at the moment but how about sideskirts etc.

duly noted.

He needs originals to mould from, and I dont know exactly which ones you mean.

Obviously the ones on my car dont fit the standard car and I cant remember which side skirts the standard car has.

I would imagine that a classic Prodrive WR replica spoiler would sell at the right price?

dont think a group buy will be neceesary at the prices this guy is talking about.

May end up being more of a permanent product available.

dont think he is looking at large scale manufacture.

he already has the 96 to 00 bonnet to muld from and has started. Will need to provide him with a scoop and some standard vents but that is all waiting in the wings already.

Reason I approachjed him was ot get hold of scoopless bonnest that still had vents for the fmic boys.

There is also the potential of turning the main scoop into more of a vent for actually guiding the air out from behind the fmic and rad.

not taking orders, just suggestions.

have asked if he can make a similar tank to the forge water injection tank due to the problems caused by having ally tanks.

Apparently tanks are quite difficult to make and seal. who knows?

camblet cover is perfectly possible, I will stick with my red 22B plastic one!

Anything that cant be ripped off too easily by some Nova owner!.
Basically underbonnet and interior parts.

Thumbs down

NICE!!! Tell me how dose youre m8 tackle the problems with material drape, and a nice even resin surface especially with something like a bonnet ok small components are easy to produce. why would somebody spending an average of 15k spend money on heavy weight wet lay components when there are plenty off company`s that do produce either oven cure or autoclave scooby components. they are not particaly expensive certinally less time consumeing hence you may find them cheaper than a wet layup.

Exclamation

Bonnet intercooler scoops of a high level nature would be really appealling for MY94 onwards & would sell like freshly baked cakes.

can ask him about a high level scoop for the old shape, he reckons scoops are very easy to mould so shouldnt be a problem.

Will get him to post on here so that Booms point can be answered.

I had not thought which actual sideskirts to use, I had just noticed that you had not put them on your list so was just making a sugestion. Maybe some of the better after market ones, such as Cusco.
Not sure if the boot skin is on the list either.
Maybe some doorsill trims with coloured embossed loggos.

Is it only black carbon fibre that the guy can do?

What about non Scoob bits as well?

Cheers ian

He has shown me different colours of carbon in the past, plus also kevlar weave which is kind of gold flecked and personally I dont think very aesthetically appealing.

not exactly sure how I can show you the quality, but will take pictures of my bumper when it is on.

Over on 22b.com a group of us clubbed together to have the bumpers moulded and the blades for the spoiler. So far from what I have seen the quality of his moulds is fantatsic and the parts (apart from the material) are indistinguishable from standard.

I didnt expect this to be the case especially with the complexity of my bumper, but it is impressive.

Saying that, I have never seen anyone elses work so I really couldnt compare. But Darrens back ground is also in car body work, so his prepwork is fantastic.
