But I just have.

I know it's a big fine to mis-space them. I know it'll be more memorable. I know it'll make me more of a target for police, racers and road-rage idiots.

I must be mad.

I said the same thing, and I just bought one. Fortunately, it's for the missus
Her name's Tahira, and I got T8HRA for 250 quid. Bargain, I reckon

Thanks

I'm happy but my housemate has just had a fit saying it's a waste of money and what will I do when I can't pay my share of the rent next month...

I've been following that thread with interest too Even gone as far as to play a bit with the Fancy Plates constructor thingy.

Anyone been done or know of anyone been done for a non-standard numberplate? And if so was it as an offence in its own right or after you/they had been pulled for something else?

I spent ages trying to convince Blowdog to buy B10WDG. It was £400. Now he has it, he cant believe he even contemplated nto buying it.

Such a nice thing to have, and in 6 months time you will have forgotten about the money but will appreciate the plate everytime you look at it!

I have an R13 number plate as well, I was looking for R8 plates too but not cos of the RB5.
My plate is in the old highline font and is legal, with a bit of squeezing the 13 would make a good B.

This afternoon I've been considering slogans for the bottom of the plate. I can't upload to my web space from work but I may post how the new plate will look later.

I read on a thread somewhere a while ago that someone has S8 WRX, would be interested as I have a MY01 WRX and my initials are SB.

My full name is Jason Wright, but mates call me 'Jay W' or 'JW'.

I wanted J4YWS, but in the end I got J8YWS for £250.

Looks quite good, but I'm not brave enough to put all the letters together and use the mounting point as an apostrophe. e.g J8YW'S

Dunno if it's sad having your name in the reg, what do you all reckon?

J.

If you've got your name on the plate then at least you can keep it long after the car's gone. Better investment.

Agreed -- I don't like 'car-specific' plates as the new owner of the car might not want them, and they're often difficult to sell (judging by the lack of demand for them on the 'For Sale' forum on here). I think if you've got a rare car-related plate (like 'M3 BMW') you'll always be able to move it on, but there are so many Scoob related plates (S600B**, S555WRC, *555SRT*, etc.) that they're difficult to sell.

Oh - and if you happen to get stopped/fined 3 times with none-standard plates - they cancel the VRM (reg number).. i read that somewhere...
