Question

Whats this yellow elastic band suppose to do

Seen this on a MY97, MY00 and a RB5.

Its beginning to bug me.

It maybe there to help identify the part if there is various models with diffrent parts??? I say this cos' mini's have the same sort of thing on the master cylinder for the brakes to identify quickly what part it is. Someone tell me if im talking B******.

It's a magic rubber band, don't remove it or your wheels will fall off H

It could be the powerband, a yellow one gives more bottom-mid range power whereas a red one gives more top end.

For heaven's sake man!!!!!!!!!
Now the secret is out!!!!
That's the rubber band that winds up when you operate the starter, then unwinds to power the car for the rest of the day!!!
