whats the best R/c Scooby you can buy

Wahey, another arena that I know something about.
Agree with jerry.
Sold my fifth scale recently , that is teh only way to fly.
Nitro engines are more aggro than they are worth, and arent as fast as you think, they just make a racket, and smell.
My fifth scale ran on good old unleaded, but was so big I had no where to drive and if I hit a small child, it would kill it (not joking).
Electric cars are much punchier, and have far better acceleration (no slipping poxy centrifugal clutch), also much smoother, quieter and cleaner.
Dont know about HPI, but I have an rc10, tc3, which is awesome and I love.
Is shaft driven but handles incredibly.

Greg,
It all depends on how much money you want to spend - Kyosho do a really good nitro model that's good for around 40mph, but can be modified with their spare parts list to take it upto 50-60mph . This is of course dependant on how much space you have to play with your car!!!

HPI RS4 Rally if you want to go electric.
If it's nitro I'd have to say one of Kyosho's cars, the 1:8 Landmax is based on their great Inferno MP-5, which means it's quite sturdy..and there's lots of goodies for it.
Still...the electric would run circles around it.
I used to race electric, 1:10 touring, 1:12 6-cell, and dabbled a wee bit in nitro (Serpent Impact, HPI RS4 Pro).

The Kyosho one is awesome. All of a sudden the road in front of my house wasnt big enough. I can E-mail you a quick time file if you are interested. 40mph? I dont think so, this one cranks up to about 50mph given enough room. Its scary fast.
The electric cars (modified motors)I had before that seemed fast look like snails now. However, the petrol car needs more maintenance, but then it runs longer without the pest of recharging batteries. Of course the petrol car doesnt have reverse, but hey thats what kids are for!!
Swings and roundabouts mate.

Greg,
I went for the tamiya glow engined WRC scoob. I think it'a a 1/8th scale. It's pretty awesome and very quick. Also we have a very good dealer not far from us in Maidstone in the garden centre thingy as you come down detling hill and go straight over at the roundabout to maidstone and it's on the left. (sorry cant remember the name!)

My personal opinion is to buy anything OTHER than the Kyosho.
I was sold my Kyosho Impreza on the basis that it was a little bit more expensive, but very good quality.
Yeah, well it was great for the 5 minutes that it worked before the engine blew up.
Three piston liners later (and a LOT of money), the piece of crap is now sitting in my storage shed (back in Australia unfortunately, otherwise I could do you a good deal ).
Just my two penny's worth.
Oh, and I do know all about running in glow engines, I've been flying R/C aircraft for years and never had a problem ...
Andrew.

I have to agree with Adam the RC10TC3 is the one to go for as you have no belts to worry about braking.
I've had a few 10th cars and this IMHO is the best one to go for
I found apex models well priced and keep most things in stock for you to get started
It might be sad who cares if you are enjoying yourself

Thanks for all the replies, think for ease of use I'll go for the electric version, have enough trouble understanding how me own car works let alone some 1/8th scale nitro glo fuel thing
