Hello to all.
Hopefully I will be picking up a new STi tomorrow and was wondering about running in. I am planning to drive to Glasgow and back (from London) at the week-end - is this a practical way to run in or should I keep to shorter trips?
Anyway, look forward to seeing some of you out there. Be gentle, it's my first scoob.
Charlie.

Welcome to the club mate
Keep the revs low and speed under 80.
If it's a brand new beast, then you'll have to be tender with her for a few thousand.
Remember to sit around for a minute or two before switching her off as well to let the hot oil drain from the turbo.

It's very important to alter your speed when running in a car. Don't sit for hours at 75mph. I'd say change it between 65-85 (I'm being realistic here, we all speed!) every 30mins or so for the journey.
Oh, yeah, and have fun

Not yet, I'm trying like hell to get the finance through in time to act on a car down south but it's not looking too good at the moment. The serious searching starts next week probably.
What you got by the way? Scott - in his true car muppet fashion - said, 'I dunno, he's got a scooby' Helpful..........MUCH!

Thanks for the tips... just picked her up today from a very helpful bloke at Quenby's. Mica Black, Xenon driving lights... the absolute b*ll*cks. Right now I am more or less lost for words.
