All MY01/02 UK WRX/STI owners!!!

So we've spent shedloads on our morrettes and new spoilers, lowering springs and big alloys to get our cars looking wicked........... (no doubt they do look the part now)

...........and the buggers are going to re-design our cars as of the MY03 model

WHO is going to sell their WRX/STI VII now before we lose a wedge on the second hand market cause our cars are to be known as the "UGLY BUGEYE" even if we dont agree that its ugly????

WHAT are Subaru UK going to do with all the BUGEYES that we own that we want to get shot of before we are left with "the undesirable model" that will have a much reduced second hand market value..... Offer us ridiculously low trade in ££££ I imagine!!!

They'll tell us "yours is the unpopular "since revamped" BUGEYE model that no one wants so we cant offer you a decent price"

Who else is worried about whats going on??? Anyone tried to flog their car since the news was announced??

Wait and see what the so called facelift is like. I'm keeping my STI-7 for a few years yet, so personally i'm not that worried.

Maybe the facelift model will be as quick to come through as the STi PPP. LOL . Jza I take your point about trade in values but right now I aint too worried cos I am just enjoying the car (fugly or not) and will continue to enjoy it, and at some point the 03 model will be replaced by the ??? etc etc....

Jza, the factors you mention are EXACTLY the reasons the facelift will not be radical...wait and see...new headlights (from STi) and spoilers, and that will be that...no body panels will change...maybe some interior cosmetic changes.

I can't see what you're moaning about! To me you buy the car based on its own merits. You knew what it looked like when you bought it and most people opinions of the cars looks. If the MY03 does seriously effect the value of the MY01/02 then it's only because it's a better car overall. has the MY01 killed the demand for MY99/00 cars....NO! Because they look great and are what most people deam a Subaru Turbo to be about.

Time moves on............cars get better........sometimes the looks get worse. Give me a 355's looks over a 360's looks any day.

Stop moaning and enjoy the car you have!

People should buy a car on its merits - not just to keep up with cuurent fashions; cars design is always changing (not always for the better); japanese cars in particular are updated more frequently than European ones; When I discovered what the shape of the MY01 would be; I ordered one of the last MY00's (was delivered on Sept2000). Very glad I did too; for me its the "classic" shape - the original & best.......

Car Dealers will use the fact there is a redesign imminent as a weapon in their armoury to offer a low px on the MY01/02 you trade in. That applies whether its a subaru dealer or any other car. That's a point you have to take on board like it or not.

That said, they would use some other excuse to offer you a SH*te deal if it wasn't that.

I have been offered this as an excuse on a deal already. I put the feelers out for precisely that reason, to gauge the response.

Do I panic sell? Nope, I like my 01 wagon, but if I did need to change, I know it would be a factor.

Same opinion of the majority, just concentrate on enjoying it rather than worrying about loosing capital on it. You will always loose anyway regardless.

I have an MY01.

It's evolution mate, I dont get upset when Intel bring out a new processor and I wont get upset if Subaru bring out a facelift car.

I always give the MY01 owners a hard time I darent buy an MY03 now otherwise everyone will be out to get me .
