Has anyone ever parked in the long term at Gatwick. Just wondering wether to hire a car or risk leaving it there for a couple of weeks? Opinions or past experiences appreciated.

Personally I would'nt leave my car in any airport car park for any length of time. I did hear of a company that offers to store your car in a secure store(big cage, guard dogs and security guards) but I'm afraid I can't remeber the name. I would phone the airport and ask if anyone offers such a service.

Depending on how much stuff you have, then take the train. It'll be slower but cheaper than hiring a car there and back.

I have left a variety of cars including the Scooby at the long term at Gatwick with absolutely no problems whatsoever. Much more chance of your pride and joy being nicked/vandalised at home. The car park takes pictures of every car and it's driver entering the car park - you cannot just nick a car that easily.

Agree with Trigger... Car left at Gatwick and Luton with no problems at all. Besides, there are often far more exotic things left in these car-parks as well

I agree also. Last time I left the Scoob it was in company with others and Evo VIs etc. Most car theives won't want to pay the charges to get out the car park anyway.

I have left my car at Gatwick on several occasions. The security is excellent so there are no worries there.

The only problem is like any car park, avoiding the car next to you opening their door into yours.

Try these, sorry but not sure of names!

01293 771581
0800 626671
0870 0134580
01342 710089

One of these is BCP, aparently if you haggle you can get £5.50 per day. I would entrust my Scoob there if I were you!

For £115, the Holiday Innn offers a 4* room for the night + 2 weeks free secure parking, but this is only bookable through going places!!

& yes I travel quite a bit!!

i've only used them once and after seeing how they thrashed the bollox off a beemer when moving it from where you drop it off to where it where it gets parked (whilst i was waiting for the coach) i don't think i'll bother again.

Wouldnt be too bad if you could park it up, but you leave it in one bay, they move it to wherever then move it back on your return.

Try Cophill Farm, about 10 mins form Gatwick, about £5 a day including courtesy bus.
Loads of space, big fences and those Rhodesian Ridgebacks on patrol.
