Fuel drama/crisis.. Ohh noo not again!!!!
#1
Went to my local garage today to find a rather large cue looming out onto the road with people in yellow jackets directing traffic. i thought to myself that there must be some sort of problem with the pumps so i proceeded to the next petrol station only to find an even larger cue. Then i realised that it was round 2 for the fuel protesters. Now dont get me wrong, petrol prices are rediculously high and are costing me a bloody fortune but im pi$$ed off with this s**t. Whats the matter with people? they are all like bloody sheep, panic buying at the slightest murma. Now i dont want to start another heated debate on this one, im only just getting over the last, i just want to air my view.
Rant over!!!
scrappy.

Saw it on teletext earlier - hauliers doing demos tommorrow i think (well, today now).....agree with it in principle but ive gotta go up an down the country a few times this week so will need to fill up a couple of times ..
Cant they do it next week??

Do it next Week, no thanks. I've got to go from Chester to Bournemouth and back then....that won't be pretty if there's a fuel crisis.
I wonder if it's a flash in the pan or set to last a few days? It's the panic buying that exaggerates the real problem (as I understand it) but can you blame people if they anticipate that everyone else will rush out & panic buy.....self fulfilling prophecy methinks.

Don't you think the fuel companys are not at fault though? Good luck to them if they're making money, it's the government we should be hassling after all it is them who take 80p out of every pound we spend on petrol!
I'd love to see cheaper petrol but blocking fuel pumps is surely not the way to go about it?
As for the tories taking 6p of a litre, WOW! I'll go order a P1 now in anticpation of the money I'll save every month!

Absolutely no queues in Bishop's Stortford this morning.
Sounds like sporadic action ahead of Thursday.
Personally I've got better things to do at the weekend....like going to the Hatfield meet & surfing ScoobyNet!!

The "spin" on oil companies making excessive profits from motorists I'm sure is just that, spin....
If you were taxing something at 80% before an election, wouldn't you find someone else to point the finger at?

Heard that many of the hauliers may stay until the election on thursday......
If they feel that passionatly I hope they go and bloody vote!!
EDIT: oh, and I agree with the spin thing - Ive just done a dissertation on how Labour used the media at the last election (cosy with editors and business, hand picked questions and audiences etc....) and if anything there is more spin this time.
Sorry if anyone gets offended politically ( ) but Blair, Brown and 'kin Prescott are pratts, are taking this country for a ride, and behind closed doors must be laughing at how blatantly they can lie, deceive, cheat etc.. and get away with it....
ALL politicians are as bad as each other, but these guys have really got my back up. Smarmy gits....
Edoted again cos I carnt cpel

Queues at Tesco's petrol station in Bishops Park (i.e. two people waiting behind the person filling up at every pump), queues at BP Woodview (one person waiting for each pump) and at the Shell further down Stansted Road (though one NUL pump was out) all at 11:00 am.
