My mums getting one in August. It's had good reviews but I thought it would be nice to hear from someone first hand.

I drove one at Christmas. My mate worked for BMW and he had it up in Scotland (he now works for Aston Martin, lucky B). Basically he drives it about for two weeks and then reports any faults. The performance was pretty good although it's hard to tell when you drive an STi normally.
The handling was exceptional, he threw it round a wet corner that I would never had attempted in my scoob. In saying that I'm not the most confident on taking corners quickly.
It did have all the bits i.e. traction control, active stability blah blah...
My wife has a normal new cooper with traction control and to be honest I have taken corners quicker in that than I would in my scoob.
