Default any one had this problem before?

hello chaps,

Bought a V reg classic subaru couple of weeks ago , drove home from newbury didnt skip a beat last couple of days an issue has popped up , i will try to explain it the best i can , when the car has warmed up 5-10 mins of driving i have a very annoying rattle/squeaking noise, it only happens when you slightly touch the accelerator peddle to keep a consent speed, when you lift of the peddle the noise stops if you press the peddle down a little bit more to increase the speed the noise stops , this only happens when driving under load at any speed any gear , dont happen if stood still and revving the engine. Ive changed the fan belt and brakes but did not rectify the problem, car still drives as normal , was going to buy a full pulley set from roger clark in case its one of the pullies? but thought id ask the question here before forking out money

any help would be highly appreciated

Can you replicate it in all gears ?
when you hear it if you dip the clutch does is go away?
On idle when you press your clutch pedal is there any change in the sound?

I had the exact problem on my UK turbo. On my car it was the up pipe heat shield. Once the car was warmed up the heat shield would rattle and make a horrible screeching noise when it was reved or approaching the red line. Once I removed and changed to a slip joint pipe the nose was gone for ever. Hope it is an easy solution for you also.
