2009 WRX (UK)
Hi all. New to the forum
Recently bought 2009 WRX, 2.5L, 225 BHP, 63K miles.
Can’t find anyone in Northern Ireland to custom remap ECU, tried all the well known and recommended garages and nope. Most also couldn’t recommend another that would, mobile tuners - nope, not well known - nope. Regularly advised turboback was a bad idea for these models due to wild boost fluctuations.
Basically, I’m going catback for the nice sound anyway, I’m wondering can anyone comment on whether chip tunes such as Racechip are a worthwhile option now? Has anyone got experience of chip tuning an 09 WRX that can inform? Am I likely to see any power increase? Or should I go further afield for a proper ECU retune if they’re about?
Main aim - more power/ more fun on the streets here and there than I currently have without going mad on mods, bolt ons an remap at most really! However, I am here for advice from experienced heads.
Help welcome, thanks.
