Daz, you would be far wiser going for the map, the chip will just be plonked in and raise boost levels and the like will no thought to the rest or the car.
A remap when done by a pro is totally custom and can be tweeked to suit your car and with any additional modifications further tweeks are possible.
All in all a better option.

Another Daz WRX, ha ha, thanks for the advice, where can i get a remap for mine then? its a 1997 wrx import and how much do you think it would cost? would i get an increase in power?

Agree with Daz WRX.. except with a 97 I don;t think it can be remapped.. you are on a Link or Motec ecu which will cost £1000+

right ok im a little confused now, so it cant be remapped, does this mean it cant be chipped? there is also another thread in this section on remaps headed "Chip advice please" and was advised to get an scoobyecu and a z4 chip? does this apply to mine aswell?
