I think 400 is about the max on a standard top mount or perhaps any top mount.
Process West do very nice TMIC's, they are very pricey....but get what you pay for etc.
Maybe give Slowboy Racing a call :

Had a grimmspeed tmic it promised the earth and was utterly useless in regards to air inlet temps .
Even the chevron tmic is compromised due to the location ( on top of the engine ) there are pictures of it being blown cool with a leaf blower ( J F )
Don't waste time and money getting a tmic do it right the first time round .
Of course do as will .

what🤣
process west front mount is bar and plate btw
I love others moaning on something they do not owe or owed and tell us something what maybe works and claiming Your part does not work because its a little other design etc where they did not check/try it to confirm their ideas.
Main problem with good top mounts is a price some can not swallow/stand it as their rusty car is more expensive than one part.

Bar and plate are more robust but not as efficient as tube and fin.

I tried using a huge TMIC from the USA , and ended up throwing it away , even the WRX original one was better !
I have just under 350bhp so I can still use the Sti one, which has a gas temperature sensor added, gas temperature can be used to adjust the tune according to inlet temperature.
of course you don't improve cooling by doing that , so if you have not already , why not make changes that improve your output and help to prevent the heat soak,
install a bespoke blanket over the turbo / wrap exhaust reflective foil and improve air ducting thereby getting the hot air away in more cool air through.

Thanks for all the help lads think I will probably end up going with the grimmspeed the process west looks good but for too pricey for me,
I did originally have a fmic but do not fancy having the crash bar taken out as that did not end well for me.
Ps let me know if any of you guys have one!

If I were to be looking for 420-450 then I would ring my tuner first, they see everything and know what works and what gives them a headache. To be certain whst they will remember is all the cars on the rolling road that only make 1-2 power runs before the Intake temperature causes the fun to stop. No tuner enjoys having to tell you this after you arrive and pay your money, but they will give you good advice on which systems have given good numbers in the past.
I know Everyone kind of agrees the sti top mount is good for about 400 but with meth wouldnt it be ok for a little more? Maybe 420ish?

our experience of Mushimuckup hasn't been very good unfortunately...... appear to be lower quality Chinesium products with slick social media blurb......

Agree that it’s on the cheap side, but I wanted to demonstrate that it’s possible to have a FMIC and still retain a crash bar. It was the fire kit that came up on a Google search, but I’m sure there are others available.
