Default Exciting times

So after owning my beloved 2016 wrx sti the time has come for more. Having had a 2004 sti which had been tweaked by bob r and neil@Slowboy approx 380 ( should never have sold her ) my 2.5 was always tame.
she going next week for a full build
machined block
arp studs
rcm gaskets
mahle pistons
manley rods

it’s them having bits I’ve accumulated over 3 years added
mdx321t
id 1050 inj
perrin caik
8 r plugs
rcm headers
rcm up
decat d/p
fuel lab pressure reg
custom fuel lines
Sam o turbo hose
baffled sump and p/u Fuji racing
rcm fuel pump

may e some bits I’ve missed , then will be mapped by Andy f.
so excited I’m chewing the sofa. Been a long time coming and I’ve saved hard and made some sacrifices. All of this is I just want it to feel similar to the feel of my old girl the 2004 sti. Fingers crossed eh !
Do you think it will ?

I’ve owned 8 Subarus so far, including a 600bhp STI RA track car. My current car is a 2015 STI running 560bhp and 600lbft. It feels every bit as exciting as the older cars, but with the stiffest chassis of the bunch it feels more predictable and handling is extremely precise.

550/600 wow ! Whole lot of fun right there. Have you kept standard suspension and brakes. What turbo / exhaust are you running for that ?

impressive tho. I won’t ask build price ! Nearly price of the car is of thought. Thanks for sharing mate.

It’s built to run over 700bhp, but for the time being I just wanted to use it on the Precision turbo that was on it before the build. It’s certainly a very fast road car as it is, but it’s overkill for this power level. It was quite a bit more than the cost of the car, but power never comes cheaply.

I’ll be interested to see your build progress.

Woowzers, that is impressive !! Does make you realise tho the difference/ cost between 430-450 to 500+. That has been done so meticulously and subtle !!
going to the k-sport brakes …. How are you finding them over stock brembos ? I was looking the other day at them and tbh there not overpriced really in comparison the 356mm ones would be my choice I think on standard 18” wheels.

Thank you, Enginetuner did a fantastic job building the engine for me.

I’m extremely impressed by the K Sports to
be honest with you, I have a couple of friends that do very well in Time Attack who recommended them. Both of them have set a number of class records and have won championships using them, so I figured they can’t be that bad, and I’m glad I tried them. I found the standard Brembos really started to struggle with heat dissipation when pressing on.

he was going to build it but then I moved to Scotland ! Lol and it’s a long way back. Found a chap here to build it , when I went to see him he had 4 scoops on ramp and at least 15 or more in car park including some very rare p1 and 22b so he knows what he’s doing. Then Andy is mapping. But as for Neil …. If you can get hold of him he is a top bloke. Has looked after / tuned/ mapped / serviced my Subarus for years

What kind of power and torque would you be hopeing for from the MDX321T and are ur heads standard, reason am asking am in same boat at min well my engines built but only thing am pondering over is turbo and maybe speed density setup was offered SC46 but am leaning towards GTX3076R

We’ll I’ve been told circa 420-440 , although engine will be solid I went for the smallest turbo for 450 simply because I didn’t want lag , been told it will be a great road car at that power / torque , heads are standard and don’t really think they need tweaking until beyond 500+ I could be wrong. I may port the headers and turbo to help the spool.

It feels every bit as exciting as the older cars, but with the stiffest chassis of the bunch it feels more predictable and handling is extremely precise.

So it’s been in garage for a week , the missus has said about Xmas , she’s happy to pay for stuff towards car. I did think braided brake lines , but then wondered about a Perrin fmic or Perrin / iag aos ? No she’s not paying for all just towards ! , also there is a few offers on Perrin fmic bringing price below 1.5k
we can’t afford both so wondering which one if any would you opt for ? I’m leaning towards the aos ?
