Default Blob temp sensor location

Hi, please can somebody confirm if I need to move/remove the alternator or the Intercooler to change the 3 pin sensor?

Thank you in advance

Is your temp gauge on the dash giving strange readings?
I thought you have to remove the inlet manifold to get to the sensor, but I could be very wrong there. I think the sensor sits on top of the coolant crossover pipe.

On my 2002 (ej207) it’s easily accessible by removing the alternator.

had to change it once due to cold starting issues.

easy done.
