No way, so there making new shells? Or old stock?

The P25 will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June, and the first cars will be delivered to owners later in the year. If you’re keen, then be quick - Prodrive is accepting 'expressions of interest’ now...

Wow that's good news.

What brand new? If they have found some new Type R's that's one thing. But if there 22b models that's insane lol

You'd assume that they will be addressing all the 2.5s shortfalls as part of the build.

Think it was something like 25 being built at £450K and some confusion as to whether they are already all sold.

Least that is what some dude on Failbook said.

2nd hand cars? You sure, abit disappointing. Thought Subaru might have some new Shells tucked away.

They are sourcing type r 2 door shells, building 25 of them, don’t worry about the shells being 2nd hand they will be as new by the time they are ready to be assembled and much of it will be replaced with carbon fibre panels.

I wouldn’t worry about the 2.5 either, it will be substantially different from a standard chocolate engine but most of them will probably sit in a nice warm heated garage and hardly be driven

Maybe they’ll use a billet block with the fire seal gasket rings. I’m presuming they want to prioritise torque to make it spool quickly and feel like the modern turbo cars.

it’s a shame these cars are all likely to end up in collections. I can’t see anyone spending half a million quid on a Subaru and driving it every where

It does say on the Prodrive site, the first 25, sounds like there might be more coming.

Feel like the modern cars? I can't think of anything worse.

It's Prodrive here I wouldn't worry about then turning it into a boring car, where you can't feel what your wheels are doing on the road, or lack of feel through the steering and feel disconnected from the driving experience.

Can get them registered as kit cars if they want new registrations for them, or will have to stick with the original reg, which isn't a big issue.

Looking at the pictures on Autocar, they've even kept the Orange front indicators but no wedges

Semi auto don't sound great. Why not do manual, or even subauentual gearbox.

Was interesting to see it has the old dash. I thought the 22Bs had the later dash.

It's built to commemorate a early WRC car not a 22B.

25 peeps who are wealthy contacts of prodrive who placed deposit's off plan i would imagine. Probably large companies who'll use them for events to gain attention.
But if they are indeed all sold why release the price in their press release ?

Just makes me wonder what a company like RCM would deliver for similar money, fairly sure it wouldn't come with a standard OEM rear subframe and off the shelf superpro ARB's

Don't get me wrong, its a good thing for all us impreza owners as it'll bring alot of attention to Subaru, but i can't help but see an old Type R with a carbon dress on, a forged engine and sequential box fitted. Hopefully once more details come out it proves to be alot more than that.

Remember when Prodrive built the P2 with Impreza running gear, styled by Peter Stevens? They had all that experience, but clearly there wasn't the business case, even though it was a sub 4 second to 60 car with a fancy diff etc.

So, 25 x £552k less 25 x £152k (?!?) to build might equal a cool £10m profit.

its a competition spec sequential gearbox with paddle shift - even Porshe the makers of the "greatest" drivers car's have given way to progress and had to admit that a basic manual is not only old hat but is slow(er) to boot

regardless of what enthusiasts would like to think the days of traditional manuals are long gone
