FA20DIT WRX "La WRseX" Tx2k Recap!
3 years ago we set the bar with the first 9 second wrx. This car had all the seats in it, radio, AC and more - very much still a street car. Taking a break from the car over the last 2 years and just enjoying it as it sat, we decided to part ways with it since it had such low miles. The car was purchased just to learn and do the job of going 9s. During that time we ran multiple 9 second passes at subaru nationals in Florida, taking cruises etc.
Awhile back we picked up this WRX with the intention of doing more dedicated drag racing with the car. Now we have another wrx that again ran 9.8s first pass off the trailer. This car is lighter and significantly safer for drag racing as it is a purpose built chassis now.
Building the first revision of this WRX v2 project in just 2.5 weeks, we have alot left to dial in and improve upon. Our first pass shows a ton of potential as we were running significantly less power than we had previously on the red car.
We also use this platform to test not only our own prototype products but others in the industry. Part of that is learning new limits and failures, which we found a few more after this first pass that we were unable to have sufficient time to recover from to make another round at the event. It definately was awesome seeing a FA powered subaru qualify in stick shift at TX2K and we look forward to trying it again in the future.
