Default 2005 sti tuning

I’m currently running a 2005 widetrack with ppp fitted and thinking of getting a 48mm billet wheel fitted to the vf35, I’ve been told this could produce 360-370 bhp. Is it worth the £600 then £300 to remap? Is there anything else I should be doing along with the turbo to get the most out of the map?
Thanks folk.

you not said a lot of spec on yours , i’m assuming it’s a 2.5 on about 320 bhp , would it need injectors too ? , is the increase in power plus maybe more lag worth around 1000£ or so ? , some people are saying on the same turbo they are getting 350 bhp , if yours is an unforged 2.5 and not a 2 litre , if it was me it would be a no , but only you can decide 👍

As above , what’s the current spec ? , if it’s the 2.5 running on oem internals I’d say stick where you are any increase will possibly result in damage to piston but it may also not , you pay your money and take the chance !

Sorry it’s a uk 2.0 blob sti with ppp so sports cat, fuel pump and y piece are the only performance mods on it.

I had a 04 sti and it had

td05 18g supplied by Harvey
ported and wrapped headers and up ( Harvey )
sports cat
colder grade plugs
cold air induction
3” stainless exhaust

this made for a rapid car and it was done in stages , mapped once by Bob rawle and twice by Neil at Slowboy racing.
the first noticalble improvement in spool was the headers .
in your case I’d say yes go for it but maybe think about getting some headers put on at the same time.

so it’s sounding like is it worth it ? , the next stage to go is more involved headers etc therefore more expensive , the main stuff has been done like the sports cat in your ppp package so that reduces lag , the good part is it’s a 2 litre so a bit tougher than the 2.5 , you could get yours re mapped again and see if you get a bit more out of it but will it be noticeable ?👍
