Finally got the new brakes fitted today! I sanded and painted the back plates the day before and then fitted the brakes today.
One of the front caliper bolts gave me a bit of a challenge but came out clean in the end! I was praying not to have to go down the helicoil route! And the fact I couldn’t get the bloody rear wheels off at first!!
Used anti seize on the caliper bolts and all torqued up correctly.
I am really impressed with how they look!
Will be bedding them over the next few weeks and will be back with a review to see how they compare to other disc and pad combinations I have had before in my 17 years of Impreza ownership! I am sooo old!!
Bloody tyre place over torqued the rear bolts! One of my old weights bars came in handy!!
I live in Spain now and unfortunately most of my tools did not come over with me. It worked just to break them free though and then used my racket to take them off!
I will be buying a breaker bar ASAP!!!

I have always used anti seize and torqued- but I am sure in a min someone will come along and agree with you and recommend me told to take the calipers off and replace using thread lock! I’ve sheared 2 bolts on 2 callipers in 12 months, I’d recommend antiseize personally
I find modern anti-seize compound/greases pretty ineffective ; Just one British winter and they are seized solid again. Same with copper grease which doesn't have enough copper content.
Personally I'm now dusting the bolts and threads with zinc rich primer and then using corrosion-block grease. Time will tell how long this lasts.
