Evening all after figuring out that the speed sensor in my car was knackered my new one arrived today upon going to change them over I found that the old sensor has completely snapped where it sits and I cannot get the old sensor out has anyone got any tips on how to get the old sensor out?
pliers inside the sensor housing and see if it will twist out , option 2 cut or very carefully drill it out , have a hoover on near it to stop any debris falling into the box , a photo of what is left may help
as above pliers inside it , hoover on and try and twist it out , there was a brown thread lock on mine from memory , i don’t know if it will drop into the gearbox but not worth taking the chance 👍

tried the pliers in it mate and no joy. I think I may have to take it to a garage and see what they say but don’t fancy paying over the odds but I will see, thanks for your help mate anymore suggestions feel free to comment 😂

just go in very gently , i can’t remember is any thing can fall past the sensor and fall into the box , mines a 6 speed and i don’t think any thing could fall through , just work on it very slowly and keep the hoover on , you could try a small knife first to see if you can cut the plastic off in small sections

First of all thanks for all the help and advice regarding this matter. A little update old sensor is now out new sensor fitted and car is back to normal thank F**k. In the end got hold of an easy out attachment which was to long and kept hitting the top of the gearbox so we had to cut it to make it shorter which then only worked to remove part of the old sensor so used it a few times to keep digging away at the thread which was stuck and in between hoovering the bits then after a few attempts we then started to use what can only be described as a cross between an ice pick with a fish hook end to dig away at what was left and after a few attempts the old sensor was fully removed and out. A pain in the **** job which I hope I do not need to attempt again 👍
