Default Is a fake Prodrive backbox a thing?

I picked up a cheap prodrive backbox today but it seems a bit big. I have a scorpion one at the moment and the tail pipe almost fits into the prodrive one. Shouldn’t they be the same size? Should a prodrive box have a welded plate on it because this doesn’t.

Appreciate the response.

Dave

Not sure if it helps but that's my Prodrive pipe on the right, there's no welded on plate but it is stamped.

It does thanks. I searched on the search bar and found the codes. Mine is also stamped so I think it’s the real deal. I didn’t know that new age ones are 4” diameter which this is.

Scorpion made the Prodrive back boxes. So they look also the same.

The Classic models had a 3" exit pipe or 3.5 and newage had 4" although I think some early Bugeyes came with same size as classic.

Not that it makes any difference as the hole that exits the silencer into the tail pipe is 2.5" if you shine your torch down the tail pipe you will see what I mean.

Yeah it is 2.5 in the inside. The exit part is 4” diameter. My scorpion one is 3.5inch I think but the prodrive is shorter so sits back a bit.

The one on the left looks very much like a TSL Group N backbox

Correct Gentlemen, it is indeed a TSL Grp N, well spotted. Now resides under the rear end of my classic.
