Hi all . I have a 2003 red blobeye wrx have owned for 3months , My engine rattles just after 2k till 2.5k evey time I drive . Wanna hit the problem now before a massive problem . But have no idea what it could be . The oil is done on time . I done the oil again last week . And it stop for a day then came back . . Just wanna found out the problem due to just had a little boy and don’t want a massive bill come my way . Any help for be appreciated thanks Steve 👍

Can you get someone to hold the revs while you look around and under the car.. it may be a heat shield rattling. I may be wrong but I think the uppipe has a heat shield.. mine perished and i could hear it resonate at certain revs.

Check the exhaust shielding - if you still have any and also the turbo heat shield? it could be a simple and cheap fix.

as above most likely the exhaust heat shielding it can be further down the system too can even sound like a gearbox issues too

if its a cracking noise from the back of the engine its usually rod knock, especially in that rpm window you mention. Get it looked at for a proper diagnosis
