Default Powder coat or paint ?? Rims need refurbing

Hi peeps

ok so I have bought a used set of alloys with the intention of getting them
refubed but alittle unsure as to what the best method is.

i just bought some work emotions d9r alloy in 18” the wheels do have
some light cubing on all four of the alloys nothing seriously only very light

i want to get them Ina similar or slightly darker colours to the jr’s below
I think they call it hyper black or similar to xxr black crome.. I’m just looking for
advise, I’ve read threads about it been not a good idea to powder coat wheels..

also if anyone knows of any decent alloy repair / paint places in Surrey
coud you let us know

cheers CSF

Following; put off refurbing mine for ages as there are only powder coaters down here. I had previous wheels wet painted and they were excellent for 3 years, but that firm is too far away now. There's a lot of heat cycles in powdercoating.

A good paint job is best imo,I had a set of standard fit OZ on my old P1 powder coated by a firm in,I think Northampton, collected, powder coated and delivered back to me-looked absolutely fantastic, trouble was, when I had wheels balanced after new tyres, the coating started peeling off when the old weights were removed,it wasn’t a cheap job, cost around £360 iirc, this was around 12-13 years ago,I may have just been unlucky but I have had a few sets refurbed (painted) since and had zero problems,so this would be my choice every time, hope this helps
