Default Best jacking points gc8

Guys I want to do my brakes on my gc8 but scared of jacking her up in the sills. Done it once before and don’t want to do it again.

where are the safest front and rear jacking points to put the jack on?

dont mind resting the sills on axle stands once up but don’t want to raise her on them if that makes sense

thanks all

The jacking points are actually the rear diff and the plate just to the rear of the sump the outer ones on the sill are only for emergencies and axle stands.

These help protect the underbody seal and spread the load:

A block of soft wood with a slot cut in it works too.

I just put cardboard folded up onto my jack and then use the sills.. I've put it on 4 axle stands many times.

If you're scared of using the sills maybe they need to be welded? People please correct me if im wrong but arent the sill cut outs there to be jacked? So surely the question is why are you scared of using the sills..? Again if im wrong please let me know as its my current method!

I do this too. With a big rubber bung/bit of thick cloth for protection.

As per post 2 to the letter. Sills are only for flat wheels and the oem jack. Hence the cut out.

+1 for the jack pucks, mine in brilliant. I spray white grease on it and wiggle it onto the jacking point. Wouldn't be without one now.
