Default how Much is it worth. FULLY FORGED CDB SHORT MOTOR

hi, as above, what is it worth? I've got a 2.5 short motor waiting to go into my v2, but I'm using the inlet and the heads to from my CDB, hence selling as a short motor, the engine is still in the car but is definatley coming out! it is fully forged and has cosworth parts used in the build! I've had the car 3 years now and it's never ever miss a beat, apart from the piston slap on cold starts due to it being forged! I've got all the reciepts of the build and will post some pictures when I get home from work! I will get the exact mileage that it was rebuilt Aswel, just wondering how much it could be worth? cheers for any info...ash

That's 118,000 miles is that right?
On the actual engine?

it's a v7 crank and cosworth rods are fitted. I've had the car 3 years and I spoke to the previous owner before and he told me the rods are cosworth rods and the crank it a v7

the car has done that but the engine hasn't as this is the 2nd replacement CDB engine fitted as the previous owner had issues with the first one! I've checked and it is a CDB block in there. if requested I can try and find out some mileage on the second engine but as it's been pretty much had a forge rebuild and the information is there from the build including mileage i.didnt think it was too important. there is stacks and stacks of engine work and reciept with this car.

cheers ash

Can't understand the reasoning of this,. You have a CDB built in 2013 with 172458 km and now it has 190000 km on it and your exchanging it with a chocolate 2.5. Could you explain why?

I've been asked this before...basically I'm not after silly figures, 389-400bhp with good torque, and that's why I've gone for the 2.5, for the better mid range torque, sometimes I do question it myself 😂. but I'm looking at getting a few bits uprated on the 2.5 anyway. and if the engine doesn't sell then it will be used as a good spare

A 2.5 won't take that kind of power for long if it isn't forged. The standard rods are only good for 380 and that if the pistons Dont die first.

I'm just going of what Andy carr has said. he's got 2.5 hatch on standard 2.5 engine and is running 390 and he said he doesn't drive it like a granny. suppose it's all down to the map Aswel?

Hi, do you have any idea of a price yet? And any invoices to prove rods are cosworth. Cheers

And hes an engine builder by trade so when it goes wrong he fixes it for a fraction of the cost, probably has spares and can claim vat back on parts.
