Default Type RA over fuelling

Hello all,

I feel a bit guilty as I have not been on the site for a long while, and now I am back, it's asking for help

My RA has been SORN for about a year. During that time I have started the car
occasionally and run it up to temperature and it has been fine.

I MOT'd the car and with great excitement put it back on the road.

However, I have just one successful run, locally, the car ran fine and on my return it idled sweetly on the drive until I switched it off. about ten mins later
I started the car again to go out, but it would not idle and was black smoking from the exhaust. It is now really rich, if you rev it it seems to clear and back on
on idle it is really rich and lumpy.

The car has an Alcatek with latest software version, so I connected the laptop and had a look.

All seems perfect, all sensors reading correctly ECT, MAP, ACT, All spot on.

The injector pulse is betwen 3.0 ms to 5.0 ms as the engine hunts up and down. Closed loop Lambda is disabled.

The fuel pressure is correct at 3.0 BAR

The injectors are pulsing, I also checked the MOSFETS on the ECU as they can go short and hold injectors on, they where all good.

I have disconnected the injectors and the engine will not try to fire at all eliminating an injector, or seal leaking by.

I am stumped

Could an injector be opening and closing but when open squirting like loads more fuel in than it should?

I cant think what else it could be, or what has caused it.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Jules.
