Default My Impreza love affair is over

It's come to the end for me with subaru for now the love affair is over....

Due to the headgasket letting go & weighing in options of getting the car to where i'd want it to be I can't justify the money of replacing it with a sti engine, gearbox & brakes.

Thanks to everyone whose helped & advised me along the way, hope you all continue to enjoying your pride & joys........no doubt I'll be back in a Impreza at some point but for now I need to move on.

I've posted some parts in the for sale & tried to price them accordingly........can't see me needing them anytime soon

Looking at your breaking thread you've spent a massive amount of cash on the car.
Couldn't you just leave it a while like a few months then come back to it.?
like most frustrating things in life, if you calm down and come back a later stage it doesn't seem as bad.
What's wrong with it?

I'd pop it in garage and just have it as a project.

Sorry to hear about the head gaskets.

Did you ever get the torque blip resolved/remapped?

Thanks mate.........sounds like you've been lucky. It's my second Impreza & i've had the head gasket go on both, 1st time i had the expensive repair done but i'm not willing to do it this time around. I'll be back at some point but it'll have to be the right car & a classic again

I've given it allot of thought believe me it's done my head in and not been a easy decision as I do love the car. Almost brought a sti engine from Matt a (mb developments) need to add in a new clutch kit, cambelt kit etc etc it all starts adding up again & you've no real way of knowing how long that engine will last or how good it is even though he's a good guy it could go on allot longer or it could let go anytime and I'm not willing to take that gamble for the cost involved.

Not a option I'm afraid, both garages are full. I also have a van for work & i've already bought a s3 so I need the room

It's a bummer that's for sure!

Strange one that, I took it back to Neil at slowboy racing for him to have a look & see what he though. You couldn't feel it on the road before i had it dynod or after it'd been done. He hooked his laptop up & took it for a run but wasn't showing anything & said everything was running fine which it did feel to me to as you'd notice a dip like that!. I got him to squeeze a bit more go out of it too............gutted it's come to this after the time I've spent doing everything myself
