I have noticed that many people on here, have their scooby as the weekend car or don't use it in the wet. Why not use it all the time. My scoob is only 10 months old and has already racked up 20k. These cars are meant to be drivin and they are fun to drive. I use mine daily, in the wet in the dry what ever, no way I could leave it parked in the garage and only use it at weekends.
Just my thoughts

I use mine quite a lot, when I am not working as I have to commute by train

But I still certainly drive it when I have got time!

I use mine when I am not working. The car park at work is not very secure, and is within a stones throw from the M60. 'Gone in 60 Sec onds'- Get the idea.

Don't use mine all of the time, it's only a few miles of town driving to get to work ... so I use the better halve's car when she doesn't need it. Seems a bit pointless to get it out of the garage to then not get out of third and stay below 3K rpm for the 15 min journey.

Do try to take it out when I get the chance though.

Only drive mine now and then at the mo. Tend not to take it out in wet as its a pain to keep clean.

Find the clutch and fuel consumption a bit heavy for the daily dawdle to work so dont really miss it in the week.

The Scooby is currently my only car, and I do about 15k/year in it.

Next week I pick up my Westfield - now that's a weekend car. The Scooby will henceforth be known as the slow, practical car

Use mine for work - 25K-30K a year. Would never think of owning such a great car and not use it as much as possible. Rain, snow or sunshine its on the road.

Keeping it in the garage is like having a big dog and never taking it out for a walk.

ChrisB, yes I was doing the trip day in day out, but I would always try to find an interesting route or something interesting to play with on the way.

Only car that whooped my **** was an M3evo on a straight road.

Expecting an jap WRX in the next few days (just for the weekends )

What's a weekend car????

Could be a nuclear or biological war tomorrow or even be hit by the local nova nutter.

If you buy it then drive it. Life is too short!!

F*** the garage, f*** the rain and f*** the weekend!

Rant over!

I am totally with type r man here.

For alot of us peasants life's just a case of:-

1) Buy a car
2) Buy a house
3) Get a girlfriend / wife / husband / sheep

and get the best/nicest you can. Do you weekend scooby drivers move to your second home at the weekend and take your shoes off just in case you mark the carpet...and then go and **** your weekend mistress or am I just too poor to be owning my car in the first place?

I think it's great that alot of us are proud of our cars on this site and obviously I think the car itslef is the dog's danglies but a bit of reality here please. It's a mass produced japanese machine and surely should be used as such.

If I am the only peasant hare then please can you all club together and arrange to give me a new STI, to use at weekends so I can keep my 75k MY99 for the mundane Mon-Fri toil...

Tongue firmly in cheek and jealous of you guy's who can afford to save it for the w/e.

SiPie

Currently doing 500 - 600 miles a week with a new Sti7 UK. Boot is full with two tool boxes, cordless drill, spare parts, arc welder (at times) spares, lap top computer, manuals etc etc.

Its just a glorified van really....

Still just got back form a 10mile thrash in the country. I live right on the edge of some of the best narrow lanes I know.

AAAHHH, its nice being self employed.....

I used to use mine just on the weekends when I was working cos it was 5 mins on the Docklands Light Railway to work and the parking was extortion. However, since I don't work anymore I am using the car all the time to pootle about. Got it in December and done 10k miles and love it to bits.

I just drive mine. Seems easiest. Dents annoy me, but it's only a car (don't let my wife hear me say that )
