So engine broke and rebuilt to same spec? It would have to be immaculate, low miles, preferably face-lift, preferably 330s. There are regularly forged hatches for sale; and it's always going to be cheaper to buy one already built by a recognised builder.
You also need to think about how ownership can be ruined by worry when you really like a car; I owned a diesel legacy once and it's not good.
Still, plenty have no problems, it's just the anticipation that I would have a worry with. What are you looking at?

A well sorted hatch is a great place to be, and the revised suspension of the newer ones ironed out earlier issues. I only have experience of the 2.0l jdm, but a forged 2.5l with sorted suspension would surprise a few haters, I'm sure.

Rob Day on here has a honest 105000 miler on here, Excellent price but miles may be too high for you. It's also worth asking on fb SIHOC if you do fb. How much is the 330s? 2008 is getting on, too old for me personally

That's the oil RA use now, they'll probably stick it in regardless of whether it's a std sti or highly tuned.

I'm also thinking of moving to a fully forged hatch in the future and would like to know of any potential issues I need to be looking out for, not just with the engine, but also with the hatch in general.

That’s not a bad price, normally go for a bit more than that. What’s the mileage and history ?
