Default Help Needed please, keys stolen and no spare

Hello, please could anyone help with best way forward.

House was burgled, and they have taken the key to my Subaru Impreza hawkeye sport... totally gutted.

i only ever had the one key (was intending on getting a spare).

Am not not sure what I can do to sort out, wanted to avoid making an insurance claim, as premium already just bearable.

any advice on how to sort out would be massively appreciated, really wanted to avoid going to dealers, as don't think I could afford it.

many thanks.

Do you have the alarm override code? Its a 4 pin code.

if Yes, you could buy a set of barrels + let's from a breaker and program the key fobs up. Instructions for doing this with the sigma alarm are online (or some thread here).

Hi, sorry don't have a pin code.

i have seen the pin code pad (where the fuses are inside the car), but kept well clear of it, as never had a pin.

literally all I got when buying the car was the key and a user manual.

totally stuck am afraid.

Clamp a wheel asap so they can't come back and take the car maybe? Then you can work on getting a key sorted.

Hi, the house insurance have said that I would need to contact the car insurance, as not something they would deal with.

they won't deal with motor vehicles, parts or accessories.

wanted to avoid the car insurance, as think it would mean I would not be able to pay an increase in premium, was just managing the current premium.

Hi, thank you my neighbour has kindly parked his works van in front of car to block it in over the weekend, so can't get mine out.

Also, Said he will park his jeep there when he needs the van

Have you got a price from dealers? Not sure how newage versions work but with my classic the key is tied into the ecu, i don't think yours is though.

The stealers charged 995 quid to change the barrels on mine when one of my keys went missing (years ago now)..

this was excluding coding up the alarm/immobiliser with a different fob, but as I had a spare fob anyway I could reprogram using that (and set the code to something I knew).

The dealers said it would be another 700 to sort my alarm out, so luckily I didn't need that as well in top.

I had lost keys insurance from the bank, thankfully, which covered the full cost.

I have phoned the Subaru dealer first thing, but still waiting a call back.

i literally have the car, no keys or PIN numbers or anything, so not at all how much they would charge. If only I had got a spare key, totally gutted.

Try getting in touch with previous owners for pin code?

Speak with your local emergency car key cutting place as they can get the code for about £30 from Subaru. Just requested mine as I need a second key

Other option is to contact a breaker, loads on eBay. And request keys all lock barrels off door and boot, plus the unit that reads chip in keys. Don't think you need ecu but do some google searching.

Hi, tried ringing emergency / mobile locksmiths, tried so many, but in the end was told not a car they can sort out, most as soon as I told them it was an Impreza lost interest? dint get a chance to explain it's just a standard 2.0 sport, not a turbo or anything.

dealer called back, he was unsure until the parts department open on Monday, but thinks he can order a key from Subaru and then cost of promgramming, he thought main problem would be getting car to them...

even if I could get into car, there's no way of turning steering wheel (wheels are not facing straight) so not sure how to recover it onto a truck.
