And, just as important .... from a paper earlier this week ....

Police are powerless to halt the sale of a speed-trap detector that uses satellites to pinpoint the location of all 4,300 cameras in this country. More than 5,000 motorists have bought the Geodesy device, but the Association of Chief Police Officers said "we do have reservations about these devices but there is nothing in the law to prevent their use".

Jeremy Clarkson is having one fitted. he said "the whole point of a speed camera is to slow down the traffic to the correct speed limit. A device that gives advance warning will do just that. The only reason you could possibly complain is if you were worried about the massive drop in revenue from these cameras"

this Moray Poll that they did about the detectors!!! i think i was asked about it! they rang me on my Mobile in about Feb, asked a load of questions about driving, then asked about Radar Detectors

Did i have one?
what do i think?
do i find it usefull? etc etc etc

i agreed with the use of them sayion that it made me more await of the speed i was going and aware of the roads etc etc etc

I too was polled earlier this year.
Yes I do have one, a Bell 980 and yes it does make you more aware of your speed.

Apart from the prosecution and persecution aspect of the Speed Camera..... sorry... accident prevention device, it's amazing how much more attention you give to the road side and hedgerow's when you are on the look out for the bloody things !
A detector pin points them easier than your eyes and lets you concentrate on the road.
Can't speek for "Kev" in his Nova, but it certainly makes me a lot more "Speed" conscious....

I too took part in this MORI poll, and since I am an upstanding member of the community, I do of course appropriately. As a result I am a far safer driver than I would otherwise be!
