Default 2.5 block 2.0 heads hybrid build

Hi all .new to this so bare with me .I'm starting my 2.5 sb with 2.0 sti avcs heads .my question is does anyone know where I could get the machine work done on the heads to match the 2.5 block ie cnc machine. that has done this work before ? Near west midlands or Staffordshire uk or as close as possible. If you have had this work done on your heads .where at and how much £ .cheers

would it not be easier and cheaper to stroke a 2 litre lump and a lot less work ? plus better reliability of the 2 litre lump ?

Alyn at ASperformance in birtley does a major amount of machining for engine builders all over the UK and his prices are unbeatable I find.
also he can supply every part you need to do the build if your doing it yourself.

​​​​​​Might be worth considering the closed deck inserts for your block aswell as 14mm headstuds depending how much the power might progress in the future.

I was advised to split the 2.5 and forge it when doing exactly what you are doing.

2.5's renowned for having chocolate pistons. Mine got forged pistons, rods and ACL Race bearings.

Thanks for the reply, that's exactly what I'll be doing,forging it.what crank did you use and what power did u achieve. .any other work involved that I should bear In mind , other than head work to do this 2.5 -2.0 heads cheers.

This did cross my mind but I have the 2.0 avcs on my engine . Depends on how much head work will cost .mabe sell mine and just buy 2.5 ones .don't suppose there's much difference in price of 2.0 / 2.5 avcs is there

The 2.0 head chambers only require blending into the bigger bore, its not a big job.


If your going to 2.5 avc's heads don't forget the cam triggers are a different configuration to 2.0
