Default Outback towbar

Has anyone had a towbar fitted to a recent Outback?

I was quoted almost 900 by the local dealer for removable + 13 pin elect
800 by a Herts caravan dealer with good local reputation
550 for a westfalia removable + 7 pin from company with a lot of good reviews inc mobile fitter.

Option 3 was most convenient as well as 350 cheaper but unfortunately they tell me the dedicated electics kit for which they add 110 is under development and no ETA.

Just wonder if anyone has recently used a 3rd party supplier of dedicated lectrics. Subarus website offer only a 13 pin for 270 AFAICS.

2.0D SE premium. 2016.

Have to admit that I don't know if it has eyesight. I just spent some time looking at the manual and it seems probably not. Had not heard of this feature until after I bought it. Have driven 2k miles so far and it hasn't complained about lane wandering or my not noticing lights change.
I saw the video where stig allows the car to do an emergency stop by itself sometime after I bought the car. The video is terrifying and impressive. I am not usually a fan of machines doing things on their own controlled by computers [I used to be one of those who wrote computer programs] but I'm undecided about this as yet.

Anyway WRT the towbar, does it make a difference? Subaru's site seems to offer one towbar, one electrics kit for all outback models.

The outback wiring loom has trailer detection on it so I'd be inclined to fit the genuine wiring kit from Subaru to prevent any issues with the warranty. as for the frame work have you taken a look on PFjones website for a witter towbar ? they come at a fraction of the price

Thanks Rob,

pfjones are the guys who quoted 550 all in [for a Westfalia + dedicated 7-pin electrics 102, fitting +175]. But they can't actually supply the electrics or give a date.

They recommended Westfalia as being better quality than Witter.
They also said dedicated electrics would avoid any warranty issue and quote 102 for those.

I am guessing I can have the universal electrics next week as they had already planned it. Tempting, but I think I would be a bit daft to potentially void the warranty. Or not?

Using the Subaru dealer and parts is at present the only available option anyway.
Thought I'd ask if anyone knows of another choice.

The only issue is the extra 350 quid. Am guessing the current offer at pfjones may be for pre 2015 outbacks anyway so once available the dedicated electrics could be more.
