Default Posting block

Bit of a random subject, but any tips on how to send a block to someone?

I need to get a block sent to the machinists (AS), but sticking it in a box seems a bit crazy...

Reckon two separate boxes for the block halves, or one giant heavy box?

Same pallet all the way. I'm guessing they have something to lift the pallet onto the delivery vehicle?

Ugh, 68 quid...

Surely there must be a cheaper alternative for an empty block? It doesn't weigh more than about 25 kg I would have thought.

Will weigh it tonight if I get a chance.

suppose the nicend thing about a pallet is that it will not be chucked around as much as a box might.

Yup defiantly be cheaper than £68,the one I had sent was a full short motor so weighed a fair bit more than 25kg,just go online and get a quote, only takes 5mins.
Everywhere else I tried wanted at least £100.

Euro pallet, or better still is you can get your hands on one, is a printers pallet as they are smaller again.

Can't remember the weight of a pair of block casings, long time since I've forwarded stuff on for people.

Depending on your timescale for getting it to Alyn, try looking for NE registered sameday companies, they'll have been paid handsomely for going down your way, and might do a back load for not a lot of money.

After careful consideration I've decided on a pallet! I've boxed it up in a box now, but it's just too bulky and heavy to look safe tbh.

wouldn't posting the two halves separately be cheaper? 12.5kg per box would be easily managed manually.

No guaranteed that boxes won't be dropped/chucked about, Trev. Lot less likely to happen on a pallet.
