Nope. It can actually keep the engine top cold meaning you don't reach proper operating temp

No, it will not, the stats do not operate fast enough.

Plenty of reading on here about alloy rads.

If an OEM rad is good enough for RCM and Lateral etc on their big power cars, you really are not going to get any benefit from it.... My car runs out on track at perfect temperature, rock solid and never climbs on a CDB and a Turbo Technics S206 turbo at 500hp with a 20yr old OEM rad. The Modine is the issue with a alloy rad and can cool the oil too,,,

Hmmm interesting , get what your saying .

Just would of thought , stat opens at say 78 , it opens up , flows thru rad , let's say gets cooled too much , drops to 75 , stat closes a bit and operdtingbtemp is kept .

Going by my coolant temp monitoring tho car runs around 90 anyway so can fit it and log temps etc

Hey its your choice, plenty of other people have tried this and reached the same conclusion that it is a waste of time and can adversely adversely effect running temp.

a stat isn't a switch, it is a slow opening and closing device.

it is a waste of time and will give you no benefit what so ever. If gobstopper, and similar cars don't need alloy rads, you definitely don't. But it's your money and your car....!
