Jacking points & axle stands
I've had a look but I thought I'd start a new thread. The exhaust arrived so I'm going to do it myself but I'll need to get some axle stands. I fancy the ratchet ones from halftords (see pic)
So the question is, after jacking up the motor via the rear diff where's the best most secure place to put the axle stands?...I usually would use the jacking points but I've read on here that they're not the best place as it can crush them so I don't fancy using there to put the stands. Also where's the best place at the front? just for future reference!
Cheers

I've not got a pic of the damage but someone has clearly ****ed up before when jacking the car up.....I think. It's the only thing that's wrong with the car bodywise. It's at the n/s/r jacking point....on the sideskirt. I think they've misjudged and started to lift the car on the skirt itself.

If you're worried about damage to the sills or jacking points try using one of these:

They help to spread the load. I've also used a block of wood with a groove carved into it to the same effect.

Yep, a block of hard wood with a groove in it does the job. Unless they are in the way I also like to leave the hydraulic jacks in place, also the occasional wheel under there too!
