Default Underseal?

Hi folks,

I'll be picking up a fresh import soon that hasn't been undersealed and I'm after some advice as the best stuff to use and place around the Bournemouth area for it to be done.

Cheers Tom

There`s a specialist in Poole, sorry I can`t remember the name. I had my import done with Dinitrol, but Bilt Hamber also do some good products. Make sure that it is done before the car is driven anywhere, and that it is proper dry.
I was down the road from you at Everton until I moved 2 months ago.

I used some black 3m schutz on my import, with some goods results. Had mine done with gearbox out, made for easier access and application. Cost about £50 from eBay 5 x 1l cans and applicator gun for air compressor. Not sure where to suggest to go ..if you can rent a ramp do it yourself ?

I had my Forester WaxOiled up at ScoobyClinic the other month, just for protection.

cost about £150.

Least they get under it all and in the areas you can't get to if youtry yourself.

Been pleased for the piece of mind.

For less than £50 with a ramp or axle stands you can do way better than old tech Hammerite Waxoil.
Make sure everything is dry, give it brush off and treat any rust. Many places just spray over old stuff or lock moisture under the coating.

used DINITROL on mine, bought in (aerosol form), black for cavitys, clear for underbody.

removed sill covers, wheel arch covers, and bumpers,
gave sub-frames a good covering inside & out.

DIY cost £120.

The problem with Waxoil is that it`s effects are not at all good if you oil over existing rust or moisture...one treatment aged my truck a decade due to poor prep.

So what's the alternative to waxoil if that is what it caused? Or is there even an alternative?
