WR1 - what's do you think of it?
I never really knew about these (I'm not knowledgable on Impreza) but I had the chance to look round a WR1 today.
At first I was not keen on the colour but the more I looked at it the more it grew on me. Owner was telling me it was 320bhp too and only 500 of them.
What's the thoughts on here? Are people a fan or are they overrated?

There's a WR1 sat in my works car park just now in Aberdeen. Looks a bit of a shed tbh wouldnt be worth much. It's basically a UK STI PPP with fancy paint and cool seats. Depending on price and condition you can get better spec'd Imprezas for less than the average price of the WR1's.

dont think youd be disapointed very nice car to drive even if people dont like the color..only newage iv owned so cant compare to jdm etc ,and only one ive had for three years that got driven hard and never a single fault in my ownership!...awsome power delivery from the off. and as much as people dont like it ,ideal if you want an investment!,only going up in value.
As a plus It is a genuine limited edition car though unlike the Lichfield t25 that was imported then had aftermarket add ons by a company that wouldn't give a toss bout them now as they've moved on to glorified datsuns... Where as a wr1 will always be recognised clearly through its colour and black seats that have an arm resting the rear
They're basically the same as a prodrive sti with a different paint, differnce wheels and a few badges. Just like the prodrive sti they are very, very nice cars and being limited edition, even if the bits that make it a limited edition aren't that special, will probably hold the price a bit better. So don't pay over the odds for one, but if you see a good one at a decent price then I'm sure it'll bring you great joy.

They weren't sold with an aim to be anymore than an STi with PPP power wise. They were made the special colour with a few interior changes, Prodrive PFF7 alloys and in limited numbers to celebrate Petter Solberg becoming the 2003 WRC drivers champion for the Subaru World Rally Team.
Some other places in Europe sold it as the "Petter Solberg edition" but without the Prodrive wheels I believe.
So if you want a limited edition version of a 2004 STi Type Uk then go for it, if your not bothered with having a limited edition then you could probably get more for your money with a normal one.

Would I have one
Yes most definitely I like the colour and the wheels and interior but what I really like is the limited number ;alot of these have been written off over the years and some maybe to abroad, so with that they could go up in price as they get older

love mine , and when it first came out was classed as a gay colour.

Mike, just remember that Subaru have done loads of Limited edition cars, WR1 is little more than a PPP'd STi
Get a Widetrack STi, Andy F remap and you will have a better car all round.
Just my opinion of course, each to their own and all that.
