Default Pollen Filter Dillema

Hi. I have a Uk Turbo 2000 on a X reg. I've removed the glove box. There is a place for a filter to be fitted. Unfortunately there isn't a filter in there.

I've now tried two filters, and neither fit! One was from import car parts. I checked with one of the staff members before ordering who assured me it was the correct part, obviously not !! When I phoned to inform them, said to modify the filter, as that's what all their customers do?? Don't think so. Said I would be posting it back. Their fault, and won't cover the cost of return postage. Not happy with their service. Anyway, rant over.

The other filter was from a local motor factor, a Blueprint part. That didn't fit either.

Can someone please shed some light on this? Anyone have one fitted to their car that could post up a pic or two?

Thanks in advance.

You don't need one in the classic. But you can buy them. As I nearly bought one a while ago.

It is a possibility that you need one similar to that fitted in the P1 and MY2000 onwards SF Forester

If my memory is correct, was the UK2000's aircon was a dealer fit option only, not factory fit.

Don Clark, you're an absolute star. This is exactly what I was after. It looks the same as mine, under the glove compartment. It's strange it's listed as a Forrester. So what's the equivalent, as I'm not paying stealer prices.

It was, but the filter fits into the heater blower unit which is fitted to all cars irrespective of A/C.

It's listed for the Forester as it fits the late model SF Forester - same heater/blower unit

Dealer price is £37.80

http://www.subarupartsstore.co.uk/g3210fc100.html

If you don't want to pay that price you buy the ICP one for £12.80 and chop it about to fit the new elements into the old frames.

This is the Oz solution.............

I did buy the import car parts one, but it was incorrect. Didn't know about the chopping bit, as I don't have a filter on there to use the frame??
