Default Custom Oil Temp PID for OBD Tool

Just bought one of these in use with the Torque app:
http://scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/pro...oducts_id=3449

Unfortunately there isn't a standard PID for oil temp, so I can't see oil temp as a gauge. I've read around online and some people have tried to add custom PIDs with the formula for it and on some cars this works.

Is anyone currently using the above tool and managed to get oil temp using a custom PID?

The below is potentially what it is, but it's more than likely not right:

OBD2 Mode and PID: 2101
Minimum Value: -40
Maximum Value: 215 (this is just the maximum that this location can support, which does not mean the sensor can read that high)
Scale factor: x1
Unit type: C
Equation: AC-40 (no space between A and C; "AC" is the location within the response)
OBD Header: 7E0 (Auto also works, but seems to take longer)

Cheers
Jack

Has your car got a oil temp sensor ?? I don't think any Subaru come's with one fitted as standard, so although you might be able to add a PID there will never be any data for it to display.

That's what I figured, but why wouldn't a 10 year old car have something so simple?

The 3rd generation cars oil pressure switch is next to useless. So don't hold yor breath.
