Default removing charcoal filter

Hi all,
New to forum. I have a Subaru sport 2.0 fitted in a classic beetle.
Can I remove the charcoal filter.
Not much space.under the hood.

I don't have to worry about emissions due to the age of the car.
But I want to damage engine.
